Introduction to the Launceston Reptile Club

Welcome to the Tasmanian Herpetological Societies Reptile Club blogsite
The Reptile Club was established around 2000-2001 By the Snake Man Ian Davies a Northwest Coast snake enthusiast, and herpetologist and Director of Research on the Wesley Vale Project, Jane Guy, from the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery.

The aims and objectives of the club was to create a venue where budding herpetologists could meet bi-monthly and share interest in their science on all things reptile and amphibian.
The Reptile Club has a range of activities and guest speakers, engaging with attendees on a range of topics, with live reptiles being brought to meetings to educate and familiarise young folk on the joys of herpetoculture (the keeping of reptiles).
